Enjoying Wellfest 2018!

Chilling out in the sunshine before The AcroYoga Workshop.

Prior to studying in this field, I worked as a buyer for a major national retail chain, spending hours each week on long-haul flights to Asia, the Middle East and the U.S. After ten successful years, however, it became increasingly clear to me that this was not where my heart lay.

In my younger days, I had played basketball at international level until chronic knee injuries cut short my career. It was during the subsequent year of intensive rehab treatment that I first became interested in the area of sports injury treatment.

So 18 Months after saying goodbye to a career in retail buying, I was a fully qualified Neuromuscular Therapist, and subsequently qualified in 2014 as a Frequency Specific Microcurrent Practitioner

Today, my client base is made up of amateur and professional sportsmen and women, and by those suffering from a range of work-related or stress-induced injuries.

At Body First Physical Therapy, I assess and treat the whole person, not just the injury or symptom.

Postural and movement patterns are assessed and addressed, through physical therapy techniques and Pilates exercises, in order to rehabilitate and help prevent reinjury.

It is the fusion of both the physical therapy and Pilates backgrounds during treatment, that allows each patient to become more body aware and play an active role in their recovery.

Treatments available include:

• Orthopaedic Sports/Deep Tissue Massage

• Neuromuscular Therapy

• Myofascial and Soft Tissue Release

• Postural Analysis

• Prenatal and Postnatal Massage
